hydraulic hoses foot valves.



Foot valves are suction strainer with a check valve inside.

They are used for different purposes and it depends on the the area and what passes inside.



Foot valves acts as a medium between hydraulic hoses and other fuel and oil hose during a filtering process.



The check valve of the Foot valves is made up of carbon steel, brass or stainless.
During operation the check valve opens when a suction pressure is applied and closes when the applied pressure is withdrawn.

This means that the foot valves allow and block respectivly the passage of particles into the hose.

Foot valves are in different forms:



1).The threaded foot valves:
these foot valve is the type shown on the image above.
It can have a fine thread or a normal Npt threading.
It can be used together with other couplings like using a crimper fittings ( mucunroy ) or have a camlock connection to it.
They varies from sizes to sizes. From 2" to 12" or more inside diametre.

2). The flanged Foot valves are also made of cast iron ,stainless or brass materials. The above material is also connected to the check valve inside. The only different between the two is that the former above is a threaded type while the later is a flanged type.

The flange type comprises iether by 150 lbs or 300 lbs depending on the pressure of the pressure pumps.

Foot valves are good and they does a filteration work also and not just a medium for particle transfer.

As a coupler, its related to weco union , hydraulic quick coupler and camlock fitting .
